Dr. Lei Pei is a researcher exploring the intersection of Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), Multi-Agent Systems (MAS), and Digital Twin Systems. Her work focuses on developing interpretable and optimization-based frameworks that enable intelligent agents to make transparent, coordinated decisions in complex, real-world environments.

With a background spanning environmental science, computer science, and artificial intelligence, Lei’s research aims to build the next generation of trustworthy, data-driven digital twins — systems that learn, reason, and collaborate with humans to support critical decision-making in domains such as code quality, smart cities, water management, and sustainable infrastructure.
